Glantane Community Council are holding their next meeting and AGM on Thursday, October 4, at 8 p.m. in Kilshannig Hall.

LADIES’ FOOTBALL

Current training schedule: Under-12 – Monday – 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. INDOORS, Bring €2, Runners and gumshields; under– TUESDAY and FRIDAY OUTDOORS, 6 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. Don’t forget gumshields; under– Thursdays INDOORS – 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., Bring €2, Runners and gumshields; underand under-10s Saturdays 11 a.m.-12 Bring €2, Runners and gumshields; Minors, under-21 and Juniors Thursdays seven 8 p.m. Depending on fixtures.

Hard Luck to our Junior ladies team who were defeated by Nemo Rangers in the Junior County Final on Saturday 29th September. Congratulations to Nemo on their win and thanks for a good sporting game. Well done to the Kilshannig players and mentors for reaching the final and all the hard work put in by everyone all year.

Hard luck to our under-16 girls who were defeated in the North Cork Final in Glantane by Mitchelstown on a score line of 2-6 to 1-5 Congratulations to Mitchelstown on their win and thanks for a great game of football. Also a big thank you to LJ’s Takeaway Dromahane for supplying the food for the under-16 team after the game

Well done to our club members who were involved in the Munster LGFA under-15 development blitz in Mallow. Well done to all involved. There was a lot of great games of football on display throughout the day.

Our annual church gate collection was held last weekend on Saturday and Sunday, September 22, and 23, in all churches in the parish. Thanks to all who contributed. The support is greatly appreciated.

BWEENG CELTIC UNDERAGE

Last weekend the under 13’s played Fermoy in Fermoy at 10am. It was a great match we were 2-0 up at half time, but Fermoy came back at us. Final score was 3-2 to us.

Current training schedule All sessions indoors for the winter months in Glantane GAA Complex U13s (06 & 07) Thursday 7-8pm. U11s (08 & 09) Monday 6-7pm U9s (10 & 11) Tuesday 7-8pm U7s (12 & 13), Saturday evenings €2 for the hall (subject to change so be sure you are on the right text list!) helpers are needed for this age so please get in touch!

GLANTANE CHESS CLUB

Chess club for ages 9-14 meeting in Kilshannig Community Centre on Monday 15th October 7-8.15pm (and fortnightly). Boys, girls, beginners and improvers all welcome. €2. Find us on Facebook.
