That’s a wrap... hurlers finish up outdoor training for the season
LAST Thursday, Laochra Óg U8 and U9 boys had their last training session in Teerbeg. There was a small presentation of a sliotar to each player and there were also sliotars for the players with best attendance. The coaches have really enjoyed training them all year, they hope they enjoyed it as well and they hope to see the young stars all again next year. They also thanked the parents for bringing them to training and matches all year in all weather.
There were thanks too for sponsors Niall Murphy Tarmac and Follain Jams and also to Michael and Nora McCarthy for the use of Teerbeg for training.
Meanwhile, there will be Hurling Training Classes in Macroom Sports Complex from October 19 to November 30, at 8-9 pm. Cost is €3 / player / training, €5 / family/ training.

U16 county semi-final: Laochra Óg 1-5, Buttevant 3-25. The club’s U16 county championship run ended in Banteer yesterday to a very strong Buttevant side and it’s fair to say the young side didn’t have any answers for the north Cork side.
Buttevant raced into the lead and had 1-1 on the board within three minutes and the writing was on the wall from early on. Brian Healy did respond with a well taken goal midway through the first half but that was as good as it got. Buttevant powered on in the second half and never took the foot off the gas. But the boys battled right to the final whistle and will have gained valuable experience for next season.
