Wins for Macroom FC U14 Girls while U12 and U15 Boys suffer narrow losses

-

UNDERAGE: Macroom U12B lost out 2-0 to Riverstown in the league at the Town Park. In a close affair, the visitors scored at crucial periods of the game. Best were Diarmuid O’ Donoghue, Daniel Keane and Jewel Ravindran.

In the U15 Premier League, Macroom lost 2-1 to Corinthians. Things were going nicely following Patrick Kelleher’s opener but Corinthians replied with two goals of their own.

Macroom tried valiantly to get the equaliser but time ran out. Another good performance against traditionally strong opponents. Mark Hunt, Ryan Leahy and Dylan O’ Riordan played well.

The U14 girls travelled to a sunny Kinsale and had a big win. A great performance and turnout from all players.

Lakewood Athletic hosted the Macroom U8 and U10 girls’ sides. An excellent morning was enjoyed with both teams playing several matches.

Macroom Youths won their opening fixture in the FAI Cup. The long trip to Youghal Utd was worthwhile as a superb display gave Macroom a 4-1 win. Daniel Cotter with two, Pawel Osnowski and Caelum Lynch were the scorers.

FAI National Draw: Tickets are now on sale for the 2018 draw. This FAI initiative gives clubs the chance to fundraise and use all funds generated for the benefit of their own particular club. Macroom FC as an FAI affiliate is delighted to be involved.

Over 2,000 prizes are on offer nationwide including 4 x Ford Fiesta cars, trip for two to 2019 Champions league final, one years free electricity, trips to Premier league games and much more (full list of prizes and terms and conditions at www.fai.ie). Tickets costing €10 are now on sale

at Murray’s Bar, Cronin’s Middle Square and from club and committee members.

All proceeds from local ticket sales will go directly to Macroom FC, so this is a very worthwhile fundraiser. The draw will take place on November 12.

Aviva Stadium Trip - The Nations Cup Qualifier between Republic of Ireland and Denmark took place at the Aviva stadium in Dublin on Saturday night last. With many complimentary tickets available to Macroom FC (following the recent FAI visit), a large number of club members, sponsors and supporters attended the game.
