Duhallow are a very good team says Haven captain

- BY JOHN TARRANT

JUST when it seemed the clock had run out for Castlehaven, they made a barnstorming attack upfield to snatch a replay, team captain Mark Collins was mightily relieved to rescue a share of the spoils but somewhat frustrated on not getting a win.

“This was a massive improvement from the previous week where we got out of jail. We didn’t play ‘til the closing 10 minutes, bar those closing stages, Duhallow were 6-7 points a better side,” said the county player.

“We had a right cut at it here, all involved can be happy with our performance, maybe disappointed on not coming out on the right side.

“But a repeat of that showing will give us a great chance, it’s all about getting the bodies right.”

From a game decorated with real quality, Collins was proud to be part of one of the best games seen in Cork for some time.

“A terrific game to play, one of the best seen in this championship, with the County down in terms of football rating, this was a welcome boost for the stature of the game,” he said.

“It’s a fair result, I saw Duhallow against Valley Rovers in Páirc Uí Rinn, they’re a very good team, we had to be at our best, that applies again for the second replay if we’re to make it to a county final.”

Collins expects the third game to be again vigorously fought between two competitive teams.

“With such an effort put during two tough games to date, its probably somewhat emotional and draining for all involved. But we’re still in with a chance, we remain in a county semi final and a great chance of reaching a county final,” he said.
