Kildorrery U-21s through to Junior B hurling decider
Kildorrery into under-21 B final
Kildorrery’s Under-21 hurlers had a comprehensive win over Ballygarvan on Saturday in the County Under-21 B Hurling Championship semi final at Carrigtwohill.
Kildorrery led 0-7 to 0-3 at half time. They were well in control in the second half and ran out victors by 1-16 to 0- 5.
The lineout was: Cathal Walsh- O’Grady, Tony Watson, Ian Butler, Mattie Walsh-O’Grady, Anthony Crowley, James Keating (0-4, 0-3f ), John Hunter, Darren McNamara (0-2), PJ Keating (0-1), Kevin Noonan (0-1), Dylan Kent (02), Paddy Piggott (0-1), Cathal Harrington (1-3, 0-1f ) Shane O’Neill (0-1), and Kieran Hurley.
Subs were: Sean Cunningham for Kieran Hurley; Richie Hurley for Paddy Piggott; David Harrington (0-1) for Cathal Harrington; Paddy Hartnett for Darren McNamara; Niall Higgins for Ian Butler.
Ballygiblin lose out
Ballygiblin lost out to Harbour Rovers in the Junior C Hurling Championship quarter final at Glanworth on Sunday.
This was a close game all through with Rovers having their second goal in the closing minutes. That helped them to a 2-11 to 1-10 win.
The sides were level 1-6 each at half time.
Ballygiblin team was: Joe Caplice, Cian O’Brien, Michael J Hayes, Damian Cremins, Tom Molan, John O’Donoghue, Brian Coughlan, Michael Lewis, Seamus Barrett (0-3), Ger O’Keeffe, Paul Kearney, Liam O’Gorman (0-3, 0-2f ), Diarmuid Noonan, Paddy Kelly (0-2), Kieran O’Doherty (1-1).
Paul Hennessy (0-1) came on for Diarmuid Noonan.
CBS’ footballers and hurlers win
Mitchelstown CBS senior footballers had a very good win over Mount St Michael’s Rosscarbery in the Cork Colleges Senior B Football Championship at Mahon on Wednesday last.
CBS held a close 2-6 to 1-8 lead at half time.
Exchanges were very close in the second half.
Christy English with a personal tally of (3-9) was the main marksman on the day for the CBS, who won by 3-13 to 2-14.
They will now meet Coachford College in the county semi final after the mid-term break.

Subs: Jake Buckley 0-1 (St Dominic’s) for Jack Fogarty; Darragh Brennan (Ballyporeen) for Jordan White.
The under-16 hurlers were also in action in the Cork Colleges on Friday when they played Scoil Mhuire Gan Smál Blarney in Rathcormac. CBS had a 10-point win on a final scoreline of 4-14 to 4-4
