Nathan Carter puts on top-class show in Arches
THE Cope Foundation, Mallow and My Canine Companion will benefit from two fantastic fundraising events at the Arches, Mallow last weekend.
‘Stars in their Eyes’ on Friday night was followed by a concert on Saturday night when Ireland’s top Country and Irish performer Nathan Carter took to the stage.
While the bulk of the audience was made up of punters from Cork, Kerry and Limerick, fans from all over Ireland made the journey to Mallow for the show.
Nathan took some time out to chat to The Corkman before going in stage.
“It’s fantastic to be back in Mallow, and I’m delighted to catch up with my friends and fans tonight” he said.
With a new album ‘Born for the Road’ and a book of the same title hot off the presses, it’s been an extra hectic few weeks for the singer.
Nathan co-wrote five tracks on the album, half of which was recorded in Nashville.
While recording material for his CD was second nature to Nathan, he was somewhat taken aback at the thought of writing a book.
“When Penguin approached me I said ‘ this is crazy’, but they thought there was a good story to tell. I collaborated with a ghost writer who came on the road with us, and the story documents the highs and lows of the game and all I’ve been through to get to where I am, ” Nathan said.
When he gets a bit of time off, Nathan loves listening to traditional music, spending time with family and watching films.
“I had two hours to spare today so I went to the Cinema here in Mallow” he said.
However, he was spotted by some eagle-eyed fans who waited a few hours to catch up with him on his way out.
Nathan headed to Scotland yesterday for a sold-out tour, and he then goes to the USA for a month.
This writer was delighted to receive a copy of the brand new album, which contains a fantastic mix of songs with something for everyone.
Ladies – this is a must buy with a feel-good factor, especially numbers such as ‘ The World Looks Better With You’, ‘She Don’t Know She’s Beautiful’ and ‘Love is a Beautiful Dance’.
