U 16 hurlers in Rebel Óg league final

THE Kanturk U16 hurlers defeated Bandon to reach the final of the Rebel Og Central U16P2 hurling league.

In the semi-final, played at Banteer on Saturday last, Kanturk built up a 2-09 to 0-08 lead and, despite having a player sent off in the second half, continued to rule the proceeding­s and ran out winners on a 3-23 to 1-09 score line.

Kanturk will now meet Ballincoll­ig in the final over the coming weeks.

Attention now turns to the Rebel Og Central U16P2 football league semi-final against Valley Rovers which is down for Saturday 27th October at Kanturk’s Freemount Rd pitch, with the time to be finalised at time of writing.

Following the Duhallow Senior footballer­s’ success over Castlehave­n on Saturday last in the second replay of the Cork SFC semi-final, the divisional side now look forward to the county final on this Sunday 28th October at Pairc Ui Chaoimh against St Finbarrs at 3.30pm. Best wishes to the Duhallow team and management, especially all those from Kanturk who are playing a vital role in Duhallow’s progress.

Result: Rebel Og Central U16P2HL Semi Final; Kanturk 3-23 Bandon 1-09.

Fixtures: Saturday 27th October at Kanturk (Freemount Rd), Rebel Og Central U16P2FL Semi Final, Wolfe Tones (Kanturk) v Valley Rovers (Time TBA).

Sunday 28th October at Pairc Ui Chaoimh, Cork SFC Final, Duhallow v St Finbarrs, throw in at 3.30pm.
