Thomas wins John Cronin Memorial cards
OVER 36 card players took part in the annual John Cronin Memorial Texas HoldEm card game at Mona’s Bar last Friday night.
Organised by Pat Connolly, Barry Whelan and Jason Buckley, the night proved once again to be successful in honouring John Cronin, who died six years ago after a brave battle with cancer. John’s wife, Mary, thanked all those who organised and supported the the event.
The eventual winner, after a night of tense playing, was Thomas Vozera, who was presented with his trophy by Mary.
MALLOW GAA LOTTO:
WHEELSPINNER Laura Mills won €75 in the Mallow GAA Member’s Lotto draw which was held in Carrigoon on Tuesday, October 16.
The numbers drawn were 1 - 7 - 15 - 30. The €30 lucky dip winners were Mary Morrissey c/o Vale Star; Paddy McCarthy, Churchview and Mary Ware c/o T. O’Neill. The jackpot is currently at € 4,600. Spinning the wheel on Tuesday, October 23 was Derry Mannix c/o Tom O’Neill.
