PARKING

Parking is still causing major problems on the Station Road Buttevant with the indiscriminent parking by parents and guardians of pupils attending the local Colaiste Mhuire secondary school in that area. There is a continuous build-up of traffic at morning and evening times as parents park “willy nilly” and dangerously adjacent to the school. The parking of vehicles is also affecting businesses in the industrial park close to the school as parents show no respect towards the businesses operating in the business park. Now with the winter evenings darkining earlier the situation will become more dangerous and treachourus.

It is now time for both the school authority and the County Council to come together to work out an immediate and amicable solution to the situation. Many elected councillors and T.D. have indicated their willingness to help resolve the situation but none as yet have made any advnces to those concerned to resolve the situation. It is hoped to arrange a meeting in the immeneny future between the local governing authorities local representatives and the school authorities to fast forward what will soon be an area of a severe tragic accident. The current debacle is an accident waiting to happen which will eventually have serious consequences.
