Fashions on show in Banteer & Kanturk
COLAISTE TREASA STUDENTS AMY AND NIAMH HEADING TO KOLKATA TO WITNESS WORK OF HOPE
GLITZ, glamour and the latest fashion trends ensured a packed house for the HOPE Foundation Fashion Show hosted in the Glen Theatre, Banteer.
A line up of reputable retail outlets from across North Cork and yonder roused a feast of fashion for a delighted audience.
The staging supported Nadd ladies Amy Lyons and Niamh O’Connor in their upcoming volunteer work for the HOPE Foundation in India. HOPE works with street and slum children in Kolkata (formerly Calcutta), freeing children and poor families from lives of pain, abuse, poverty and darkness.
Amy and Niamh are part of the Kanturk based Colaiste Treasa Transition Year HOPE Foundation Immersion Programme travelling to India in 2019 to witness at first-hand the work of HOPE and the extremities of life in Kolkata.
Supported throughout their time in India, students are introduced to poverty, the realities of street children and the joy of HOPE.
During their week-long visit, Niamh and Amy will spend time visiting HOPE projects, interacting with children and adolescents who are in HOPE supported projects and immersing themselves in Indian culture.
Winter, casual and formal wear grabbed the attention as did a collection from 1970 Cork Rose Maria Buckley.
“Hopefully, our visit to India can make the world a better place by caring for people who are in need of help”, said a delighted Amy and Niamh. “We want to thanks the outlets, models, sponsors and the public for their support.”
