Free short film course for young peo­ple

A two-day film mak­ing work­shop is sched­uled for the Cork Film Cen­tre Gallery, The Pow­der­mills, Ballincol­lig on Satur­day and Sun­day, Novem­ber 17/18.

Run­ning from 10.30am to 4.30pm, the two-day course is de­signed for young peo­ple, aged be­tween 14 & 18. There are 12 places in to­tal and they are ideal for those who are cre­ative and have a gen­uine in­ter­est in film mak­ing, both in front of and be­hind the cam­era.

Work­ing as a group you will learn and en­hance film-mak­ing tech­niques. You will script your own drama, shoot the scenes, act, di­rect and crew a short film un­der the guid­ance of pro­fes­sional ex­pe­ri­enced film­mak­ers from Cork Film Cen­tre.

Ap­pli­ca­tions are now open but just five places re­main avail­able. No ex­pe­ri­ence is nec­es­sary, but early book­ing is es­sen­tial as places are strictly lim­ited. The only charge is a €20 book­ing fee.

Your short film will be pre­miered on the big screen at an ex­cit­ing Film Gala event hosted by Cork County Coun­cil on Novem­ber 23rd at Ver­tigo, Cork County Hall, Cork.

‘Cork Young Film­mak­ers’ is a Cork County Youth Arts Train­ing Pro­gramme man­aged by Cork Film Cen­tre and funded by Cork County Coun­cil and SECAD.
