Sam Maguire - The Man and the Cup

KIERAN Connolly will present a lecture on Sam Maguire: The Man and The Cup on Monday, 12 November in Ballincollig Rugby Club.

Originally from a Church of Ireland family in west Cork, Sam Maguire played a leading role in the GAA and the Irish Republican Brotherhood (IRB) in London before and during the War of Independence in 1919–1921 when he was the main agent of Michael Collins in London.

This will be fascinating talk as Kieran has written the latest biography of the revered Sam Maguire.

The talk will be preceded at 7.30 pm by the launch of Times Past, 2017-18, the journal of Muskerry Local History Society, by Michael O’Flynn.
