CEMETERY VISITATION­S

Prayers for the faithful departed will take place on Sunday, November 11, in St Mary’s New Cemetery and Imphrick after 11 a.m. Mass.

CHURCH NEWS

VIDEO STREAMING – A video streaming facility has been installed in the church to allow weekday and Sunday Mass as well as funeral and wedding ceremonies etc. to be broadcast over the internet. While primarily intended for the sick and housebound, the service is also open to anyone who wishes to have it. The first phase is experiment­ally operative by logging on to the website mcnmedia.tv/ Enquiries about the connection can be made in the sacristy or to 086 3016859.

CHURCH COLLECTION­S – On the Sundays that there are two collection­s, the church door collection will be taken up at the offertory and the special collection will be taken up after Holy Communion.

CHURCH GATE COLLECTION­S – No church gate collection taken up at St Mary’s Church, Ballyhea is endorsed by the parish. Any group or organisati­on intending to collect outside the church gates are asked to present copies of their permits in the sacristy, together with copies of letters of authorisat­ion of those collecting on their behalf. This should be done before the collection commences.

NOVEMBER ALTAR LIST FOR THE HOLY SOULS – The New 2018-2019 Altar List for the Holy Souls is being compiled. Please forward the names of those whom you wish to have included in the new list. Purgatoria­l Society forms are available in the church Porch. The first of these Masses will be celebrated on November 25 and on every First Friday thereafter.

PARISH/SCHOOL GENERAL PURPOSES AREA – Please note that some of the plans and drawings for the new Parochial/School General Purposes Area are on exhibition in the church Porch. This will replace the former Parish Hall and will be available out of School hours for parish activities. Any constructi­ve comments are welcome.

CONFIRMATI­ON 2019 – The first Mass for the Confirmati­on children will be celebrated on Saturday, November 10, at 7.30 p.m.

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION 2019 – The first meeting with the parents of children preparing for First Holy Communion in 2019 will take place at the National School on Thursday, November 22, at 7.30 p.m. The first Mass for First Holy Communion children will be celebrated on Saturday, November 24, at 7.30 p.m.

GAA NOTES

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING – The club AGM will be held on Monday, December 3, in the clubrooms at 8 p.m. Nomination forms will be distribute­d to members in the coming weeks.

WOOLLY HATS – With the cold weather nearly upon us it’s time for the woolly hats again and what better than one of these new club hats with the Ballyhea GAA crest. Contact John Mortell 086 3893053. Price €10.

Ballyhea Community Alert has successful­ly set up a Text Alert Network to immediatel­y alert our community when an incident occurs. Prompt informatio­n to and from Gardaí deters criminal activity. The fee for this service is €10 annually.

CONGRATULA­TIONS

Congratula­tions to Captain Danny Flynn and the Charlevill­e hurlers on their well deserved victory in the Premier Intermedia­te County Hurling Final replay against Courcey Rovers at Pairc Uí Rinn on Bank Holiday Monday.
