LISCARROLL AC
UNDER 16 GIRLS SCORE AT CASTLELYONS – Liscarroll AC athletes made the trip to Castlelyons on Sunday last to compete in the Cork County juvenile relay Cross Country Championship. Girls’ under-16 did us proud to win a set of bronze medals. The four girls involved found the going tough, because none of them do cross country but they put in a tremendous effort over a 500 metre course. Girls involved were Irene Kellegher, Aoife O’Sullivan, Aoibh Hogan and Ria Murphy.s.
Girls’ under-10 and under-12 along with boys’ under-10 were unsuccessful in their efforts but it is the taking part that counts. Those, who competed were Emma O’Connell, Clara Whelan, Grace Murphy and Louise Flynn at under-10 and Aoibhinn O’Reilly, Niamh Hennessy, Shona Murphy and Ella Butler at under-12. All of those girls were running up an age and the experience will stand to them in the future. The four boys involved were John Butler, Conor Blastland, Evan Murphy and Fionn O’Sullivan. Much gratitude also goes to the supporters who gave a donation to the club instead of partaking in the draw.
There are fantastic prizes on offer throughout the year like monthly first prize of €20,000 cash, weekends away, vouchers and generous cash prizes. There are over 650 prizes in total in the draw. The monthly draw takes place on the last Thursday of each month with results published in the Irish Examiner on Saturday.
