Mallow Tidy Towns AGM and awards night

-

THE AGM of Mallow Tidy Towns will take place tonight (Thursday) in the Arches Bar at 8pm and will be followed by the groups awards night – one of the highlights of their annual calendar.

The awards will offer Mallow Tidy Towns a welcome opportunity to acknowledge and pay tribute to the residents associations, businesses and community employment workers for their ongoing commitment to maintaining the towns environs.

Their efforts have been reflected by the fact that in the past 12-months alone, Mallow has increased its final tally in the SuperValu National Tidy Towns competition by a further 10-marks to 293.

When compared to the final tally of 250 in 2012, this represents an truly impressive increase of 43 marks over the seven year period.

While this is indeed cause to celebrate, Mallow Tidy Towns is not sitting on its laurels and is already planning for the future to ensure the town builds on it’s recent successes.

With this in mind, the management committee would like to hear the ideas of locals for short, medium and long-term projects that will help keep this forward momentum going.

“If you have suggestions or would like to volunteer or offer any assistance please get in touch at mallowtidytowns@gmail.com,” said a spokesperson. “After all, many hand make lights work.”

See next week’s The Corkman for a report and photos from the awards night.
