Horgan’s Pharmacy
Horgan’s Pharmacy, Strand Street, is centrally located in Kanturk town, serving the needs of the local community for many decades.
The pharmacy was originally founded in 1961 by John and Mary Dillon, initially on Percival Street, then later relocated to Strand Street in 1972. It became part of the Horgan Pharmacy Group in the year 2000 and has continued the long tradition of excellent customer service ever since.
Long serving and dedicated Staff members are at the heart of the pharmacy service provided by Horgan’s Pharmacy, often meeting the needs of three generations of local families. Serving people from a very wide hinterland, Staff members hail from Kanturk, Newmarket, Millstreet, Banteer and Mallow with a combined service history of over 100 years.
Superintendent Pharmacist is Kieran O’Keeffe MPSI, married to Mirinda Horgan MPSI from nearby Liscarroll. Supervising Pharmacist and Branch Manager is Ger Linehan MPSI from nearby Millstreet and he is ably supported by Pharmacy Technician, Breda O’Mahony, who has over 20 years service in Horgan’s. Other familiar and helpful Pharmacist faces include Ann Lyons MPSI, also from Millstreet.
For almost 30 years, Elizabeth O’Connell has served at the Medical Counter in Horgan’s and knows nearly every customer by name, striving to ensure they are well looked after at all times. On the Cosmetics Counter for almost 15 years is Lilly Moynihan from Newmarket, always going the extra mile for each customer. Other dedicated Staff members include Elaine O’Donovan, Maura Jones and Michelle Heffernan all of whom are professional, helpful and familiar faces to regular customers.
SERVING THE COMMUNITY
Horgan’s Pharmacy is very generous in its support of local GAA clubs and organisations and tries to give back in various ways to the local community. Horgan’s Pharmacy is dedicated to developing the services and product ranges on offer so that it meets evolving local needs and is the exclusive agent for many select Cosmetic and Fragrance agencies.
PATIENT CENTRED
At the very heart of the pharmacy service in Horgan’s is the patient and a full range of dispensing services is provided with a Private Consultation Room available for sensitive queries. Horgan’s also offers additional services like Bespoke Hampers, Gift Cards, Savings Club and Loyalty Card benefits. The entire team at Horgan’s aims to exceed customer expectations and is very honoured to be nominated for an IRD Duhallow business award.
