SPECIAL NEEDS PARTY.

There will be a Special Needs Christmas Party for children, and families, with special needs in the GAA, Hall, Buttevant, on Sunday December 9. Santa will be in attendance, on the day, and there will also be Arts and Crafts, Face-Painting and Sweets and Treats, for all to enjoy. There will be a D.J, on hand, to provide lots of festive music, and lots of fun and games, for the children. Admission, for children, will be €5, which includes a photograph, with Santa. Admission, for adults, is €3.50, which includes a compliment­ary Tea/Coffee, and Snack.

CHRISTMAS MARKET.

Buttevant Community Council has organised a Christmas Street Market to celebrate the festive season, of 2018. There will be numerous stalls, positioned throughout the Main Street area displaying all types of products, goods and festive fayre.

There will also be lots of entertainm­ent, throughout the afternoon, which will be suitable for all ages. There will be face-painting, Paw Patrol and The Incredible­s cartoon characters present, and there will also be Christmas Dance Demos, Balloon Character Making and an exciting Christmas Treasure Hunt for the younger generation.

The market will take place on Sunday, December 2 between 2pm and 5.30pm, culminatin­g in a spectacula­r electrifyi­ng fireworks display to brighten the evening darkness.

This group, of voluntary members are constantly working for the betterment,of Buttevant, and its residents. Though the members

BAZAAR

The annual bazaar, in aid of Saint Johns’ Church of Ireland Restoratio­n Fund, will be held, on Sunday, November 25, in Buttevant GAA Hall. All the usual stalls will be available, with numerous produce, bric-a-brac and fancy goods for sale. Santa will also attend, the bazaar and will have loads of goodies for all the children. This annual fund-raising event is always well attended, and early attendance is advisable, to avail of the many bargains, which may be available.

PARKING.

Parking is still causing major problems on the Station Road, Buttevant, with the indiscrimi­nent parking by parents, and guardians, of pupils attending the local Colaiste Mhuire secondary school, in that area.

There is a continuous build-up, of traffic at morning and evening times as some parents park adjacent to the school.

The parking of vehicles is also affecting businesses in the industrial park, close to the school. Now with the winter evenings arriving, the situation will become more dangerous. It is now time, for the school authority and the County Council to come together, to work out an immediate and amicable solution. Many elected councillor­s and TDs have indicated their willingnes­s to help resolve the situation but none, as yet, have made any advances to those concerned.

LOTTERY.

Buttevant Soccer Club promotes a weekly local lottery draw to help finance the club’s expenses and activities. The lottery jackpot now stands at €20,000 and will continue to rise. The draw takes place, weekly, on Thursday night, at an appointed local public venue.

BINGO

The weekly bingo session continues, in Buttevant, on Monday night in the local GAA Hall, with numerous monetary prizes to be won.

There is a substantia­l bingo jackpot to be won as well as an inhouse lottery, and an extra sheet game. There is also a 50/50- draw for attendees. The jackpot, now stands, at €3,260 and will continue to rise, accordingl­y. The games get under at 8.30pm.
