PARISH MISSION

Our Pastoral Council has spent months preparing for the Parish Mission, which will commence on Sunday, November 27 at 7:30pm. Earlier in the day, a Pilgrim Walk to Tobair Lachtaín Naofa, Cloch Aidhneach will follow the 11:30am Mass. The parish Council has published an attractive brochure, entitled, Tagaimís le chéile, outlining the programme over the six days. It could not be more different from the Missions of fire and brimstone in the past. Themes for the Mission include Justice and Values, Healing of Hurts, Honouring our Dead, Baptism and Passing on the Faith and Celebratio­n of Community and Parish. The Mission will conclude with a Social Evening in the Ionad Pobail on Friday, November 30th. Fáilte is fiche roimh cách.

Little Cornelius Thomas Manning, Germany and Cathair Céirín was baptised recently in Séipéal Lachtaín Naofa in the presence of his parents, grandparen­ts and extended family. Saol fada agus sonas duit,Cornelius.

The death took place recently of Abby Mac Carthy, Mayfield and formerly of Cnoc Sathairn. Predecease­d by her sisters, Eileen and Maura, the late Abby was interred In St Oliver=92s Cemetery, Model Farm Road, following Requiem Mass in the Church of Our Lady Crowned, Mayfield. Sympathy is extended to her husband Michael, her family of five, siblings Joan, Connie, Denny, Thomasina and Johnny and extended family. Solas na bhFlaithea­s ar a h-anam uasal.

CD LAUNCH

Following a most successful 2018, Máire Ní Chéilleach­air is launching her second CD on this Friday, November 16th in the Ionad Cultúrtha, Baile Mhúirne. Actually there are two CDs, one in Irish and one in English both featuring many local songs from Múscraí. Tickets cost €10 and can be pre-booked. Fáilte is fiche roimh gach éinne.

HEART HEALTH

A very informativ­e talk on Heart Health will be given at the Library, Baile Mhúirne on this Friday, November 16th at 11am. Fáilte roimh gach éinne.

MEMORY MASS

The Missionari­es of the Sacred Heart, Western Road will celebrate a Light up a Memory Mass for the Dead on Saturday, November 24th at 6:30pm. The church will glow with hundreds of candles lighting in memory of the dead. Fr. Michael O=92Connell will be the chief celebrant and all mission friends are welcome.
