Boherbue setting up for Christmas market

- SHEILA FITZGERALD

SANTA is busy dusting off his sleigh and packing it with wonderful presents for the boys and girls who will be visiting Boherbue Christmas Market on Sunday, December 2 - and the good news for everyone is that a trip to Santa’s Grotto is completely free.

“This wouldn’t be possible without the support of our local Supervalu in Boherbue, which is sponsoring our grotto this year. There will be gifts for every child and a photographer will be available on the day. If parents wish to avail of this, there will be a small fee,” said Sandra Ryan of the Christmas Market Committee.

While queuing to see Santa, children can have their faces painted free of charge, courtesy of Katelyn’s Face Painting.

The hall will be choc-a-bloc with a wonderful selection of stalls by local vendors selling their Christmas goodies, from home baking to artisan foods and drinks, jewellery and accessories, novelty gift ideas, Christmas decorations and much more.

“Of course, we will be serving our famous mulled wine along with other refreshments to warm you up while you shop til you drop,” Sandra added.

Every year the Christmas market supports a local group in the community and last year the recipients were the handball club who benefited to the tune of €500, proceeds from the ‘Monster Raffle’. The raffle never fails to disappoint with a huge selection of great prizes, from vouchers to fabulous hampers, so why not try your luck and come along on the day for some festive cheer!
