High five for young stars of Muskerry Judo Club
Medal haul at Leinster invitational tournament
A TEAM of five representing Muskerry Judo Club attended the Leinster invitational recently in Walkinstown, Dublin with coach Seamus Manning and they certainly didn’t disappoint.
Aaron Fitzgerald (10) fought in the U24kg and won gold. He went on to win all of his four fights by Ippon (maximum points). He is a little pocket rocket of a fighter and he has also competed in the Swords Open this year and in the Oranmore Invitational in Galway where, again, he won gold in both with top points.
Aaron has made a big impression, as have all five competitors.
Levi Fitzgerald (12) also won gold in all competitions fighting U50kg and also entered the pre-cadets where he doubled his haul of gold medals.
Katie Power (10) won silver at the weekend in a tough category U36kg. Katie, like all of the team, has put in such hard work and has improved at a rapid rate.
Katie won bronze at the previous two competitions. Ruadhàn McKenna (11) put in a fantastic performance and won gold in the U42kg category. Ruadhàn had won silver in the previous two competitions, again showing the hard work they are all putting in at training, never missing a session.
Alex Dubrovskis (10) fought U34kg in his first competition and won bronze he did amazing for his first competition and again, Alex like all the above, put a lot of hard work and effort in at training and are very dedicated for such young ages.
