-

Cathal O’ Riordan and Shane Dunne also scored

In the second half Gleann Na Laoi were on the front foot but were thwarted by resolute defending, Jamie Murphy and Tom Donovan doing very well.

Macroom conceded only one point in this period. Taking control of the mid-section of the half, Macroom had numerous chances, with several free kicks missed and several balls cleared off the line but the badly needed score never came. Eventually tiredness set in and the fitter Gleann Na Laoi side began to dominate and got three points without reply towards the end of the game. However, Macroom never gave in. In the dying minutes of normal time, and in additional time, Macroom went in search of an equalising score.

Try as they might, they were denied a goal and came away with a point only, Cathal O’Riordan the scorer. Gleann Na Laoi won by 0-9 to 0-7.
