MARKET
Next Sunday, December 2, is Christmas market day in the Pearse Memorial Hall from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. This annual event is one of the highlights in the Boherbue calendar and this year’s market promises to be bigger and better than ever. With over 20 stalls displaying a wide range of products all at reasonable prices including arts and crafts, jewellery, skin care products, Christmas surprises and lots more plus of course a wide selection of home baking, everyone’s favourite. Santa’s grotto has moved from SuperValu to this event with lots of gifts for all the boys and girls. Admission is free and there will also be raffles for valuable prizes. Refreshments will also be available throughout the afternoon.
Go along and check it out, there will be lots of fun for all age groups – an event not to be missed.

CEMETERY
The annual Mass at Kilmeen Cemetery takes place this Saturday, November 24, at 2 p.m.
REMEMBRANCE
The annual remembrance service for those who died during the year takes place in the Church of the Immaculate Conception on this Friday, November 23, at 7.30 p.m.
CHRISTMAS
Restore Friday, December 7, for the blessing of the Crib at the square and the turning on of the Christmas tree lights plus the lights fitted on houses throughout the square and Main Street. This is always a big event with the national school children performing at the square plus the local church choir. It takes place at 8.15 p.m. (after the 7.30 p.m. vigil Mass) and afterwards everyone is invited to the hall to partake in some Christmas cheer plus tea and light refreshments. This year four additional decorative lights have been added for the main street to bring additional colour for Christmas.

ANNUAL 5K
On Thursday, December 27, the annual 5k takes place with the starting time this year brought forward to 1 p.m. It is based at the Pearse Memorial Hall and each participant will receive their time. The fee is adults €10, youths €5 or €20 per family.
All runners and walkers will receive a medal at the finish line and you are encouraged to wear your Santa gear for this family fun run. More details later.
