Revamp crew fashion out Best Creative Industry award
THE judging panel for the Creative Industry award gave the nod to Duhallow Revamp, who were thrilled to win an award on home ground.
It has only been in operation since January 2016 and it was established with three key purposes:
– to provide sheltered training and employment opportunities,
- help with the environment by reducing landfill and fly tipping
- and to provide quality up-cycled furniture at low cost to pensioners, low income families, people who are marginalised and unemployed because of mental health difficulties and other reasons.
The strong team consists of Helena Enright, Julie Flaherty, Jessica Baron, Debbie Pearson, Colm O’Connor and Chris Cielen. Despite being in existence for a short period of time, it has received recognition both nationally and locally and it is the first enterprise in the country to be awarded the Reuse Quality Mark.
The other two finalists were Caroline Bell’s – Cakes by Caroline B, who manages to bake the most decorative cakes and even caters for overseas brides to be. She has received numerous awards for her skill in sugar craft
Ace photographer Janusz was also on the shortlist.
He set up his business three years ago and while his customers are mainly local families who want to have their big family events – such as christenings, birthdays, communions, confirmations and anniversaries captured, he is also extremely well known for his wedding photography. Trzesicki
