Tina’s blossoming brainchild picks up best women-led business award
THE only way is up for Tina Dunstan of Cherryblossoms Pre-school and After-school as she picked up the award in the Women Led Business category.
She set it up just three years ago and, as the name of her company says – it has done just that – and has from its base in Kanturk it has spread to Lismire, Kilbrin, Freemount and Newmarket.
While Tina was thrilled at the win she said her success is down to her “fantastic and dedicated staff ” coupled with the strong community support. “The key to all these services is that they have huge community support and it’s created a valuable service to support families,” said Tina.
One of the other two worthy shortlisted finalists were Dick Pomeroy & Co. Auctioneers, valuers & estate agents in Millstreet.
The late Mr Pomeroy’s daughter, Catherine, now oversees the business for a number of years. She does sales, letting and valuations for residential, commercial and agricultural properties. She is very much focussed on continuously growing and developing the residential, commercial and agricultural sales and lettings, and is hopeful of further expansion to take on staff.
The other shortlisted finalist was The Animal Roadshow’, which is spear-headed by Marie and Brendan Fleming.
It was established 14 years ago and they run an interactive education programme. Their selection generally includes lizards, snakes, owls, tortoises and much more.
Their customers range from toddler groups and pre-schools to private parties, special needs groups, schools and nursing homes. However, they also do a lot of corporate and festival entertainment.
