SENIOR CITIZENS PARTY POSTPONED

Killavullen Community Council will postpone the Senior Citizens Christmas Party planned for this Friday until the New Year due to a bereavement in the Community.

Shona Murphy in the under-11 race got hemmed in by the rope at the start of the race and fought bravely to catch the leaders.

This was the last cross country championship race of 2018 in Munster. Despite the conditions on Sunday, everyone had a relatively dry outing.

On Saturday, December 15, Johnny Murphy will travel to Navan for the uneven age all-Ireland Juvenile Championships. He will compete at under-13. We wish him luck, competing for club and county and province.

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING – The AGM of the club was held on Thursday, November 29, at which the activities of members in 2018 were aired. Proposals and plans and election of officers for 2019 took place.

Training and coaching of field events was discussed and it was decided to continue with the same training days and times as in 2018. ie Monday and Thursdays in Liscarroll and Tuesday and Friday in Charleville, It was also decided to hold a special indoor training session in Nenagh before Christmas,

The treasurer reported that the club was in a good financial state with all bills paid.

A vote of sympathy was passed in memory of people from the area who died throughout the year. To their families, relatives and friends we extend our sincerest sympathy.

FIXTURES – National (all-Ireland) Cross Country Dates. Saturday, December 15, ; Novice and Juvenile Uneven Age Juvenile, at Navan Adventure Sports, Navan Racecourse. Please note that this Event takes place on the Saturday, instead of Sunday.

2019 Fixtures – Saturday, January 19; all-Ireland Combined Events for All Ages at Athlone.

Sunday, January 20; Munster Juvenile Inter Club Relays, Jumps and Throws at Nenagh.

Sunday, January 27; all-Ireland; Junior and under-23 Championships at Athlone

Saturday, February 9; Munster under-nine to under-11 Championships and Men’s and Women’s Walks – Nenagh

Sunday, February 10; Munster Junior Senior and Masters Championships at Nenagh.

TRAINING – Thursday, December 6.(TONIGHT) in Liscarroll 6.30 to 7.30 Little Athletics. This is the Final Night for Little Athletics before Christmas.

Friday, December 7 in Charleville 6.30 to 7.30 approx. All Athletes under-nine upwards
