SINSIR CLUB
Castlemagner Sinsir Club would like sincerely to thank all those who supported their recent production of John B Keane’s Play Big Maggie. It was a great success and a huge thank you to the cast and crew who performed so brilliantly over six nights. After weeks of hard work and dedication to the community there is no greater reward for the cast and crew than to play to a full audience each night. Your support was greatly appreciated.
The Castlemagner Sinsir Club annual cookery demonstration was also a resounding success which was delivered by Hazel Bourke of Assolas House who demonstrated her culinary skills so professionally on the night. The club wished to express their sincere gratitude to Hazel for her professionalism, knowledge and expertise. Castlemagner Sinsir Club would also like to extend sincere thanks to our local businessman Michael Twohig of Supervalu, Kanturk, who sponsored all the food that was cooked on the night.
The annual Christmas Party in Springfort Hall was also a very enjoyable day, 110 people were seated to a beautiful meal along with mulled wine served on arrival. Santa arrived unexpectedly and without incident and brought a present to all guests who attended on the day. The band were The Marine Sound who played so brilliantly on the day providing the perfect music and entertainment for people to dance to and enjoy the afternoon. Great thanks is due to the hard working committee and their endeavours are greatly appreciated.
The results of the Christmas raffle are as follows.
1st prize of the monster hamper went to Sarah Weathers Gurteen, Kanturk. 2nd large colourful Flower Arrangement, Helen Taylor Subulter. 3rd Beauty hamper Tommy Meade. 4th Mary Donovan. 5th John Ludgate. 6th Nuala O’Connor. 7th K O’Callaghan. 8th Mary O’Connor. 9th Lyndsey Buckley. 10th Josephine O’Connor.

Christmas Celebrations in St Mary’s Church, Castlemagner.
Confessions will be held after the 7:30pm mass on Saturday evening 22nd and again after the 11:30 am mass on Sunday morning 23rd. Christmas Eve, December 24th: Family and young people’s mass at 5pm, with Ballyhass NS children’s choir. Other masses: Christmas Eve Monday 24th at 9pm, with vigil of carols and readings from 8:30 pm. Christmas Day Tuesday 25th at 9am and 11:30am. Christmas offerings will be taken up at all these ceremonies.
PRIMARY SCHOOL DISCO
Castlemagner hall is holding a Primary School Christmas disco this Friday night Dec 21st from 7.30–9.00 pm. Under 12’s (or up to and including 6th class) welcome. Entry €3 per child or €5 for 2 or more from the same family. For further enquiries contact Lisa on 086 1237421.
