New plan for community due out in very near future
THE final community plan for Charleville town from 2019 to 2023, which is being formulated for Ballyhoura Development by Paul O’Raw and Associates Killarney, is due out in the very near future.
The plan was devised following meetings of local groups and organisations to put forward their views and input to the plan, which started last September and was completed before Christmas.
The plan was initiated by Charleville Heritage Society following the completion of the five-year stint of the former Charleville Forum which was in operation since 2011 until 2016. The members of the Heritage Society, recognising the need to continue the good work started by the previous Forum to further progress the improvements of the town, took the lead and applied to Ballyhoura Development for grant aid to formulate a new community plan for Charleville for the years ahead.
Their application was successful and they received wholehearted co-operation from Ballyhoura Development, who appointed Paul O’Raw and Associates from Killarney to facilitate the arrangements for the formulation of the new plan.
The new plan which has emerged from these deliberations will require a new committee to implement the findings which have emerged. Charleville Heritage Society will now stand back to let a new Fourm to be elected to put into action the suggestions that have been put forward over the next five years.
The members of the Heritage Society will be available, to make a contribution, particularly with regard to heritage and tourism, if required.
