Knocknagree lay groundwork for win with first half burst
Knocknagree 4-10 St. Vincents 1-8
A blistering opening half paved the way for Knocknagree to get the better of St. Vincents in this Tom Creedon Cup quarter final.
The visitors brought an impressive order and control to their game, using the ball much more constructively earned due reward, a pair of goals netted by James Dennehy and another from Anthony O’Connor helped secure a 3-6 to 1-2 advantage at the break.
St. Vincents came more into the picture with Ger Kelleher and Derek O’Connor finding the range yet Knocknagree capped a workmanlike performance on a further goal netted by Paul O’Connor to rubberstamp a semi final date against Macroom.
