Tom Mannix

The death occurred, after an illness bravely borne, on January 20 of Thomas (Tom) Mannix, Ballyhindo­n, Fermoy, and formerly of Ballinglan­na, Kilworth.

The late Tom was a very well-known personalit­y in GAA circles.

This popularity was borne out in the very large and represente­d attendance at the removal on Tuesday evening from Ronayne’s Funeral Home to St Patrick’s Church in Fermoy.

This was also the case at the Requiem Mass and burial on Wednesday.

The interment then took place to Brigown New Cemetery.

To his wife, Rose; son, Luke; daughter, Siobhan (Howe); grandchild­ren, Emma, Meabhdh, Aoife, Conor and Laura; sister, Betty (O’Regan); brother, David; son-in-law, Brian; daughter-in-law, Julia; brothers-in-law; nephew; nieces; relatives; neighbours; and many friends, we tender our sincere sympathy.

Ellen (Nellie) Pierce

The death occurred on January 24 at Cork University Hospital of Ellen (Nellie) Pierce (née Barry).

The late Nellie was predecease­d by her husband, William.

Her popularity was borne out by the large and represente­d attendance at the removal on Saturday evening from O’Connell’s Funeral Home, St James’s Avenue, Mallow, to the Church of St John the Baptist, Ballycloug­h.

This was also the case at the Requiem Mass and burial on Sunday.

Interment took place to the adjoining cemetery.

To her son, John; daughter, Helen; sisters, Kathleen and Joan; brothers, Dan and Jim; daughter-in-law, Ann; grandchild­ren, Margaret, Liam and Sean and his wife, Denise; great-grandchild­ren; sistersinn­ephews; nieces; relatives; neighbours; and many friends, we tender our sincere sympathy.

Marie Foster-Scannell

The death occurred at Marymount Hospice on January 23 of Marie Foster-Scannell, 3 Kingston Close, Mitchelsto­wn.

The late Marie was wellknown in the local area.

To her husband, Gerard; brothers, Tom and John; niece, Ruby (Foster); aunt, Cecelia (Fitzpatric­k); and members of the Dowd family, Manchester and Claremorri­s, Matt, Pat, Martin, Margaret (Gilligan); sister-in-law; brother-in-law; cousins; neighbours; and friends, we tender our sincere sympathy.

House and Funeral were private.

Patsy Barrett

The death occurred on January 21 of Patsy Barrett in England.

The late Patsy was formerly of Ballyarthu­r, Mitchelsto­wn.

He was a member of a wellknown family in the Mitchelsto­wn area.

The funeral is set to take place in Kent, England, on February 14.

To his sons, Jim and Francis; their families; sister, Kitty Lynch; brother, Jimmy Barrett; extended family, and friends, we tender our sincere sympathy.
