BOHERBUE COMPREHENSIVE SCHOOL

The Assessment Test for incoming First Year students 2019/2020 will take place in the Library, Boherbue Comprehensive School, on Saturday, 9th February from 9.30am to 12.30pm. Students should arrive at the School before 9.15am on that day. All 6th Class students are very welcome.

KILMEEN CEMETERY

Anyone with family or friends buried in Kilmeen cemetery who may be interested in being part of a committee for the restoration of the walls in the graveyard are invited to ring or text either PJ Walsh 087 7951548 or Patsy Sheldon 087 2934277.

Grants are now available for projects such as this, so they hope to be up and running as soon as possible.

HANDBALL

Boherbue juvenile handballers were in action in a number of competitions recently with mixed luck. On Sunday last at Ballydesmond Carmel Kelliher and Tomas O’Connor recently lost out in the Gael Linn 40x20 mixed doubles all-Ireland final losing out to Kilkenny in a very close contest.

Earlier in the week Aodhain O’Keeffe partnered by Daniel McSweeney who were unlucky to lose out in the county under-10 doubles final in the Munster colleges intermediate 40x20 final. It was a victory for Aiden Lenihan and Daragh Ducey. Congratulations to one and all

SCÓR NEWS

In the county Scór 50th celebration at Pairc Ui Caoimh on Saturday last Boherbue 8-hand gave a prizewinning performance before an appreciative audience. The members were Beatrice Casey, Katie O’Sullivan, Lena Sheehan, Ide Herlihy, Siobhán Fitzgerald, Margaret Hickey, Megan Courtney, Cliodhna Ducey.

Boher musicians and members of the Shandhum ceili band were also on stage in a night of entertainment and memories at the Scor Sinsear Duhallow final at Cullen on Friday before were victories in the figure and set dancing. Ballard group and instrumental music, well done, congrats.
