The Corkman

Centre Stage heads for The Everyman

-

MUSICAL Theatre students at Centre Stage School, Mallow have been learning their lines, practicing their songs and rehearsing their steps for their production of ‘Forever After’ at the Everyman Palace Theatre, Cork.

The show will run for three performances only; on Saturday, February 16 at 7pm and Sunday 17th February at 2pm and 7pm.

‘Forever After’ is a fairytale mash up inspired by international musical sensations ‘Shrek’ and ‘ Tangled’. Both are set in a mythical land where ‘once upon a time’ is the beginning of every story, and this Centre Stage musical ‘Forever After’ draws inspiration from these.

‘Shrek the Musical’ is the story of a hulking green ogre who, after being mocked and feared by anyone who dares to cross his path, retreats to an ugly green swamp to exist in happy isolation until he is dragged unwillingly back to the world of other creatures. ‘ Tangled’ is the tale of beautiful princess Rapunzel who has been locked away in a tower since she was kidnapped as a baby by an old hag.

These stories are full of magic and incredible music, and are the perfect inspiration for this production which will involve all Musical Theatre classes at Centre Stage. School founder Aideen McAuliffe is director, Dance veteran David O’Connor is choreographer and the supremely talented Musical Directors are Louise Luddy and Nicole McDonagh.

With rehearsals in full swing, the excitement is already brimming about this production. This is a fun and entertaining family show, suitable for all ages. Booking is recommended so call 0214501673 or visit www.everymancork.com for tickets.
