Top of the table tie-up

Premier A, Waterloo 0-0 Kanturk

IT was honours even in a very tight and tense affair between title rivals Waterloo and Kanturk on Sunday morning.

Waterloo probably enjoyed more possession but Kanturk created the best chances and will be disappointed not to have grabbed a goal, especially in the first half. They were rock solid in defence and battled well in midfield and overall a point was a fair result.

Best for Kanturk were Willie Murphy, Lorcan ‘Figo’ O’Neill and Damien Finn. The run goes on, still undefeated in the league after nine with plenty more big games to come.

Kanturk U12s V Ballinhassig

Kanturk played a league game at home in Ballyhass Lakes in cool conditions.

A very even match at the start between the two teams. Kanturk had more chances but failed to score because of great goal keeping from the Ballinhassig keeper. Kanturk did score half way through the 1st half when Alan Kowalski scored from a breaking ball from a corner kick which he struck well into the right hand corner giving the keeper no chance.

Just before the end of the 1st half Eoin O’Keeffe scored direct from the corner kick, curled straight into the top corner.

The second half was much the same, both sides having chances and great defending from the back three and goal keeping from Danny Cronin kept them out .

Full time score Kanturk 2 Ballinhassig nil. Best for Kanturk: Dylan Morley, Christopher Byrnes, Charlie Hanover.
