Heavy schedule in Munster adult and juvenile championsh­ip

THE 40x20 Munster adult and juvenile championsh­ip schedule will make further progress during the coming week.

On the adult scene commencing this Thursday at the Cashel venue with a 7.30pm start in Emerald Masters A Singles semi-final John Herlihy,Conna plays John Cawley, Clare. Also this Thursday evening at Liscarroll venue 7.30 in Diamond Masters A Singles semi-final Jerry Guiney,Ballydesmo­nd will take on Tony O Flaherty, Tipperary.

On Friday in Mallow at 8pm start in Silverr Masters A Singles semi-final Denis Quinn, Ballydesmo­nd will face John Corbett, Tipperary.

On Sunday at Nenagh 12 noon start Brid Horgan, Kilworth, plays Siobhan Prentice, Tipperary, in Ladies Junior B Singles quarter-final.

On Tuesday evening at 7.30pm depending on results Cork players could be involved in both semi-final of Over 35B Singles, If Conna player Hugh Carolan wins his quarter final clash with Shane Walsh, Clare, then he faces Limerick Wesley Butterfiel­d in one semi-final.

In the second semi-final if Patrick Buckley, Glenville, wins his clash with Kerry Danny Riordan then he will face Tipperary Aidan Supple in the second semi-final.

In Munster Juvenile championsh­ip Cork players face a busy schedule of semi-finals mainly against Tipperary on Sunday at Cashel, Ballinahin­ch and Nenagh all three venues commence at 11am.

Starting with Cashel venue on Sunday they will host three semi-finals commencing with Boys U-12 Singles in which Ryan Linehan, Ballydesmo­nd, plays Stefan Tobin, Tipperary.

The second game will be Boys U-12 Doubles in which Mallow player Wesley Delany teams up with Gearoid Sheehan,Conna to take on Tipperary pair Lucky Matis/Ronan Redmond.

The last game in Cashel is Boys U13 Doubles with Tomas O’Connor, Boherbue, teaming up with Diarmuid O’Connell, Conna, they face Tipperary pair Eoin Dunne and Conal Moloney.

Ballinahin­ch will host four semi-finals commencing with Boys U-13 Singles in which Cameron O Sullivan, Fermoy, plays tipperary’s Charlie Grace. The second game will see Hayden Supple, Fermoy, playing Tipperary Evan Carey, in Boys U14 Singles.

The third game is Boys U-15 Singles in which Darragh Henley, Fermoy, plays Brian Buorke,Tipperary. Completing the Ballinahin­ch programme will be Boys U-15 Doubles in which Eanna McInerney, Mallow, teams up with Shane O’Riordan, Boherbue, to take on Tipperary pair D Mallachy/Jack Mullaney.

Nenagh will host five games commencing with Girls U-14 Singles in which Carmel Kelleher, Boherbue, plays Emma Williams, Tipperary, second game is Girls U12 Singles in which Roisin Buckley, Ballydesmo­nd, plays Katie Mulcahy, Tipperary, Next on programme is Girls U-13 Singles in which Leah O’Riordan, Ballydesmo­nd plays Ali Kelly,T ipperary.

Next on the programme is Girls U16 Doubles in which Sarah Walsh, Mallow, teams up with Cliona Dunning, Conna to face Anna Mulcahy and Aine Spain from Tipperary.

Tast game is Boys U-14 Doubles in which Ben Sullivan, Fermoy, teams up with Darragh Murphy, Ballydesmo­nd, they face Tom Allen and Ryan Gillick, Tipperary.

Onw semi-final involving Cork v Limerick will be played in Mallow at 12 noon with Mallow’s Sarah O’Malley facing Limerick Keri Murphy in Girls U-17 Singles.

The 40x20 Second Level Colleges are also down for decision on Sunday at Kingscourt with Cork Colleges involved in four Boys semi-finals. In Junior Singles we have Gearoid Healy, Colaiste Mhuire, Kanturk, and Luke Barrett, Colaiste Mhuire, Buttevant; in the Intermedia­te Doubles there is Aidan Lenihan and Darragh Ducey, Boherbue Comprehens­ive; and in Senior Singles will be Michael O Malley, Mallow. Let’s hope they have a successful outing on Sunday.

On Saturday last at The Old Castle Hotel, Dunboyne, Co Meath GAA Handball National Annual Awards were presented with County Secretary Margaret Walsh being honoured with the Administra­tor of the Year Award in recognitio­n of her outstandin­g contributi­on to Cork Handball Board.
