Éire Óg Pavillion to host Scór Sinsear finals

THE Cork County Scór Sinsear Finals operate on this Saturday in the Éire Óg GAA Pavillion, Ovens commencing at 6.30pm. The 50th Finals comes to the popular Mid Cork venue and fingers are crossed the fare on parade will equal if not better excellent hostings from more recent years.

Saturday’s showpiece features an abundance of talent from all corners of the county with clubs representi­ng the various divisions. All the indication­s are an abundance of cultural entertainm­ent will surface from GAA members. Scór na bPaistí

DUHALLOW national school kids are looking ahead to participat­ing in the highly popular divisional Scór na bPaistí cultural orientated competitio­ns.

Chairman Liam Buckley thanked the continued involvemen­t of Kanturk Credit Union and encouraged the participat­ion of all schools and clubs within the division in a full and comprehens­ive programme catering for both individual and team members.

The extensive schedule focuses on figure / set dancing, solo singing, recitation, novelty act, instrument­al music, ballad group and question time.

Confined to national school children, Duhallow dates confirmed are three semi finals down for decision beginning in Cullen on thia Friday night at 7.30pm with participan­ts drawn from Cullen, Millstreet, Dromagh, Derinagree, Rathcoole, Tullylease and Cloughoula.

The second semi final in Rockchapel on Saturday at 2pm features Rockchapel, Kiskeam, Kanturk, Meelin, Knockaclar­ig, Ballydesmo­nd, Kilbrin and Lismire. Boherbue hosts the concluding semi final on Sunday (2pm), involved are Boherbue, Newmarket, Ballyhass, Knocknagre­e, Lyre, Banteer, Kilcorney and Hollymount.

The divisional finals for the quiz, recitation and sketch take place in Lismire on Friday, February 15 with the remainder of the programme pencilled for the Edel Quinn Hall, Kanturk on Sunday, February 24 commencing at 2pm
