Muskerry GAA make their championship draws for 2019

-

THERE was a full representation of clubs at Coachford on Monday evening last for the championship draws and it will be all systems go on the playing fields from this point onwards.

The completion of two competitions from last season are the first items to be dealt with and following same the three grades in the Under-21 football championship will move into top gear.

The board endeavoured to make arrangements for the playing of the outstanding league games from last year at the meeting and there will be at least one of them played over the weekend. Therese games could not take place last season as two of the clubs involved are sister clubs of Cloughduv whoses very successful year of action at Junior hurling level involved players from both Canovee and Kilmurry.

Those latter two clubs must face each other in the 2018 Junior football league semi-final and hopefully this long awaiting encounters will take place this coming week at a time and a venue to be agreed and the winners play Ballincollig.

The additional game to be arranged is a junior (B) football league final involving Kilmurry and Naomh Aban.

The draws for all the championships under the Muskerry boards Jurisdiction took place with the exception of under 21 hurling as the position vis-à-vis the teams participating in the two county board under 21 hurling championships are not finalised.
