The Easter Festival at Cork Racecourse Mallow is not to be missed, with an action packed seven racecard getting proceeding­s underway on Easter Saturday, first race going to post at 1:20pm.

Off the track, day one of the Easter festival kicks off with the KC Party in the Festival Marquee during racing. Known for his tunes and wit on Cork’s 96fm, this is one party you won’t want to miss.

The big screens and TV’s throughout the enclosure will be showcasing the Munster v Saracens Heineken Champions Cup Semi-Final. And there’s a €5 discount on admission for anyone who wears the Munster jersey on the day! TV presenter and model Glenda Gilson has been unveiled as the judge for the Muckross Park Hotel & Spa Most Stylish Lady Event on Easter Sunday. Glenda is regularly photograph­ed on the red carpet and knows exactly what is fashionabl­e and on trend.

The lucky lady on the day will walk away with an overnight stay for two in the Penthouse suite of this stunning hotel, with dinner, breakfast, spa treatments plus more all part of the overall prize pot. Taittinger Champagne Ireland are delighted to offer the first 100 ladies that enter the event a compliment­ary glass of their finest champagne.

Attention will also be on men, as Suits Distributo­rs Cork sponsor the Most Stylish Man event, with a voucher to the value of €500 up for grabs.

The first race of the National Hunt card goes to post at 1:40pm.

Easter Monday is all about the family with endless free entertainm­ent for children of all ages. In the festival marquee young racegoers can enjoy Magic Shows, Puppet Shows, Racing Club for kids, with the chance to meet a jockey, Celfie Station, Henna Tattoo Artists, Face Painters, Easter Egg Treasure Hunt, Magic Maze, Arts Attack Zone.

To top off an amazing day there will a free ice cream for each child in attendance on the day.

Only a short 30 minute drive from Cork city on the Limerick Road (N20), Cork Racecourse is also well serviced by hourly trains from Kent Station (with free shuttle buses making the short hop from train station to racecourse) and bus services running from Parnell Place.

As always the three day festival will have free admission for children U14.
