Appeal for input to county’s plan for future
ASK not what your county plans for you but rather ask your county to consider your plans for Cork’s future.
That’s the appeal of Cork County Council as it seeks input from residents to its new corporate plan which sets out the ambitions and hopes of the council for the next five year period – 2020 to 2025.
The Council is seeking the views of those who are living and working in Cork County, those who avail of Council services, community interest groups, business interest groups, colleges, schools, local organisations and those with an interest or an involvement in local government.
Chief Executive of Cork County Council Tim Lucey highlighted how the creation of the Corporate Plan needs public input,
“We want to continue to have a positive impact on economic growth, social inclusion, equality, human rights, climate change and sustainable development.
The new plan will be based on what people in Cork need or want, delivering the services that are being sought by people living and working here.
County Cork Mayor, Cllr Christopher O’Sullivan is asking for input into this plan to build on achievements already delivered, “Cork County Council is proud of our county, our citizen’s, our communities and our businesses. This is what makes Cork a great place to live and work. We have achieved so much already and we want to continue achieving”.
Mayor O’Sullivan said: “The Corporate Plan underpins all of our plans and strategies while also linking with central government’s policies and goal
“Every year we will measure and monitor our progress on the plan and equally on its outputs and outcomes,” said the Mayor.
