Hurlers secure a hard-fought victory

-

NEWMARKET’S hurlers marched on to the Junior A county semi final for a second year in a row after a hard fought win over Brian Dillions on Saturday evening. The victorious team got off to a flying start, scoring the first three points of the match, but as the half proceeded, the scoreboard was tied on four different occasions.

With the last two points, Newmarket went into the interval 0-09 to 0-07 head. The second half was an equally tight affair, but the Duhallow men never surrendered the lead and ran out 0-15 to 0-12 winners over the city champions.

Next up is a tie against last year’s runners-up, Russell Rovers, in Mourneabbey on Saturday, October 19, at 2pm.

The team looks forward to your wonderful support again. Áth Trasna Abú!

If you are unable to make it at these dates and times, please contact Luke on (087) 754 3868 to order directly.
