Friday November, 22:

The shield-winning U12 boys received their medals at the sponsors’ premises last Friday Mid: Cork Pallets and Packaging.

It was a fitting end to a great season for this bunch of lads to be able to return to the sponsors with the shield.

All sponsors are community-based and deserve huge thanks for continuing to support the club as it goes from strength to strength.

Saturday, November 30:

Laochra Óg had a surprise presentati­on of 72 sliotars in the Abbey Hotel, Ballyvourn­ey from Tomás Mullins, Green Fields DST.

Tomás has connection­s with Múineach Beag, Cúil Aodha as his grandfathe­r was Tim Mullins, Múineach Beag. He was joined by his cousin Seán Kelleher, Baile Mhic Íre, and some friends from Tipperary.

The club has thanked Tomás for his support, and it said it was great meeting him and his friends.

Sunday, December 1:

The very young Laochra Óg Minor team played Cill Mochomog in the West Minor Hurling Final at Kealkill.

Missing a good share of its older players, the team gave it a good go from start to finish.

Cill Mochomog lead from the start of the game putting over a good share of frees and leading by 0-7 to 0-2 at the break.

Laochra Óg started the second half very well, scoring a goal and cutting the deficit to two points.

Cill Mochomog settled again and exchanged points with Laochra Óg for the rest of the game, winning by four points, 0-14 to 1-7.

The club extends thanks to its players for giving it a right good, go and to their trainers Donal and Derry.

A special thanks also went to team sponsors Deasy Pharmacies and the Abbey Hotel Ballyvourn­ey for refreshmen­ts after the game.
