Monster Christmas market
CHARLEVILLE Heritage Society in association with AIB Charleville will hold a Christmas Market on this Sunday at the Charleville Park Hotel starting at 12.30pm with the official opening by Mary Tattan, manager AIB, and will and end at 5pm.
The chairperson of the Heritage Society, Evelyn O’Keeffe, says that they have received fantastic support for the event and they will have in excess of sixty tables selling all kinds of festive fare from arts and crafts to food and novelty items for Christmas, a raffle for valuable hampers, and of course Santa Claus will also make an appearance.
“We got a tremendous response when we announced this event at the start of November and within a few weeks it was full, and, unfortunately, we have had to disappoint many people wishing to take tables at the market due to pressure of space. Charleville Heritage Society will have a table there and will be selling their mugs featuring local historical figures, along with a newly compiled book on aspects of the history of Charleville,” said Evelyn.
The day will also mark the first public appearance of the newly formed Charleville Capers Choir, who are presently rehearsing for their first show, Sister Act, which will be staged in the Community Hall in March. They will be performing seasonal carols and also may include a few numbers from their upcoming stage musical.
So, a great day out for all the family is guaranteed and admission is free.
