Exciting talents emerge in Duhallow Scór na nOg finals
THE Kanturk Credit Union sponsored Duhallow Scór na nOg Finals attracted exciting fare on a successful staging in Lismire Community Centre.
Featuring a wealth of diverse entertainment in music, song and dance; participating clubs from across the North West division displayed their cultural talents to an appreciative attendance.
A terrific atmosphere developed indoors as the programme progressed.
Boherbue had reason to celebrate as the club enjoyed a productive outing to sample a total of five outright wins with Cullen and Freemount enjoying popular wins.
Business as usual for Boherbue in dancing, posting a double win with an eight-hand Figure Dancing peforming “The Three Tunes” and their interpretation of the Plain Set added the Rince Seit. For good measure, Boherbue added the Novelty Act with their hilarious “The Hurling Season” with Ciaran Aherne adding the Recitation on his offering “Garda William Finbarr Feely”.
At Solo Singing, Aoife O’Riordan from Boherbue delivered a delightful rendition of “Shanagolden”. Cullen added to their collection to retain their Ballad Group with a double helping of songs.
And Freemount helped generate a toe tapping rhythm in a selection of jigs and reels at instrumental music with Fionn O’Hanlon from
Boherbue repeating the exercise in solo music.
Muireann Vaughan compered the proceedings as Bean An Tí with organising chairman Liam Buckley complimenting all involved in participating and the clubs on promoting scór and Kanturk Credit Union for their continued support.
