Duhallow U21 duel with New market set for this weekend

THE long awaited Duhallow U21 Hurling Championsh­ip semi-final will hopefully go ahead this weekend when Kanturk lock horns with Newmarket at Meelin on Saturday 7th December at 2pm.

The winners will face Dromtarrif­fe in the final. MINOR HURLING:

Kanturk minor hurlers put in a battling performanc­e in the Rebel Og Cork U18 Div1 hurling county final losing out to a stronger Newcestown at St Michaels (Mahon) on Saturday last.

A Kanturk goal after 2 minutes gave them a lead they held for six minutes until Newcestown registered a similar score after eight minutes to level the scores 1-04 each. By the interval Kanturk were 1-08 to 1-14 in arrears and while they tried hard in the second half to bridge the gap, Kanturk lost out 1-15 to 1-24 to a fine Newcestown side. AGM:
