ELLE MARIE IN CHRISTMAS CONCERT
Freemount songstress Elle Marie O’ Dwyer launches her new EP “Christmas by the Lee” this festive season to get us all in the spirit of Christmas!
Elle Marie’s unique voice and her captivating style have helped her to become one of the most recognised traditional singers of her generation. She notes that her four albums are very much a map of the road her style of singing has taken over the last few years. While her roots remain in traditional ballads, she now enjoys singing songs from many different genres, including folk and country. This is very much reflected in her latest release, which will be launched on Friday 6th December on home turf in Freemount.
Since arriving on the music scene in 2013, the award- winning singer has made huge strides in her career. Elle Marie has performed in venues all over Ireland and abroad and shared the stage with many household names, including Seán Keane, Maura O’ Connell and Cherish the Ladies.
Recorded at Pat Donegan Studios, Causeway, Co. Kerry, her latest release is a 6 track EP including well-known carols Silent Night and O Holy Night. Along with this, Elle Marie’s own composition “Christmas by the Lee” is also included on the EP, along with Cliff Richard’s hit, “Mistletoe and Wine”, which Elle Marie has produced in her own unique style. “My last album was recorded in 2017 and I was itching to get back into the studio and create something new and fresh. Christmas is without doubt my favourite time of the year but it was definitely unusual researching and planning a Christmas EP in August! I loved every minute of recording. Pat Donegan in Causeway produced and recorded the album and he is a genius at what he does. It was a brilliant experience.”
Elle Marie and her band will perform a Christmas Concert on this Friday, 6th December in the Cois Alla (Heritage) Centre in Freemount where the new EP will be launched. This will be Elle Marie’s first solo concert on home turf since 2014 and promises to be a fantastic night of festive entertainment, with a mulled wine reception starting at 7.30pm and plenty Christmas treats along the way. Tickets are €10 and booking
