LATEST NEWSLETTER – Killavulle­n GAA have just posted the latest newsletter on their website killavulle­ngaa.com. This newsletter (04) gives a quick review of a very successful 2019 for our juvenile group. It also details the growth of our website, increased safety awareness and features in Killavulle­n GAA grounds, the replacemen­t of the Leylandii trees, and a very thoughtful article from Daniel Luddy, who is resident in Montevideo, in Uruguay now.

The players and those who sponsored Killavulle­n GAA is the golf classic are mentioned and finally, the winner of the Killavulle­n GAA Merchandis­ing Competitio­n in this newsletter was Eoghan Forde.

ATHLETIC CLUB NEWS

CROSS COUNTRY – Well done to Isobel Kellegher, who travelled to Two Mile Borris, Co. Tipperary on Sunday last to compete in the Munster Juvenile ‘B’ Cross Country Championsh­ips. Isobel finished in third position winning a Bronze medal. She was also a member of the Cork Team that won Gold Medals This was a fine performanc­e from Isobel as she is just returning from injuryAll-Ireland Cross Country Championsh­ips.

Next day out for some of our athletes will be in two weeks when they will make the long journey to Dunboyne, Co. Meath to compete in the all-Ireland Cross Country Championsh­ips. Four athletes from the club will compete in the boys under-15 Race. Johnny Murphy Bill Collins Eoin Tynan and Robert Troy. Robert Troy will be a member of the Munster and Cork Teams along with a member of his Club Team. This is a great occasion for the club to have a team at the all-Ireland’s. We wish the boys the very best of luck on the day. Avondhu Indoor Athletic Event.

Avondhu District will host a Juvenile Indoor athletics competitio­n in Nenagh next Saturday, December 7, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for athletes from clubs in the Avondhu area ages underto under-18. In 2020. Events on offer 60m, 300m, 500,600m, 800m, and Long Jump. €2 per athlete.

INDOOR CHAMPIONSH­IPS – Only five weeks till the Indoor Championsh­ips which will take place in Nenagh Indoor Stadium on Sunday, January 5, 2020.

Men and Women under-20 and under-23 Championsh­ips along with Juvenile Combined Events ages boys and girls under-11 to under-16. Athletes should be preparing for these events by attending the various club training sessions each week.

TRAINING – Training for athletes under-13 and younger in Dromina hall every Monday from 7.00 p.m. to 8 p.m. Training as usual for athletes under-14 and older in Liscarroll GAA grounds (weather permitting) and on Friday in Charlevill­e from 6.30 to 7.30 p.m.

Little Athletics every Thursday 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. The Halla Churchtown. €2 per child per night. New members welcome.
