MASS TIMES – Saturday, February 1 (Vigil) 7.30 p.m. Sunday, February 2, 8.30 a.m. 9 a.m. Latin and 11 a.m. Weekday Masses: Morning Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, February 3, to Saturday, February 8, There will be Adoration and Benedictio­n of the Blessed Sacrament on Thursday after 10 a.m. Mass till 11 a.m.

Confession­s will be heard before the Vigil Mass on Saturday evening.

MONTH OF FEBRUARY – The month of February is dedicated to the Holy Family, Jesus, Mary and Joseph. Feast days for the coming week.

Monday, February 3: St Blaise, bishop and martyr Tuesday the fourth: St John de Britto, martyr Wednesday the fifth: St Agatha, martyr and virgin. Thursday, February 6: Ss. Paul Miki and Companions, martyrs Friday the seventh: St Mel, bishop, St Chrysoliu’s, bishop and martyr. Saturday, February 8: St Jerome Emiliani, St Josephine Bakhita.

FEAST OF CANDLEMAS – Sunday, February 2, is the feast of Candlemas. Offerings of candles for the Altar and oil for the Sanctuary Lamp may be left into the sacristy.

Candles to be blessed for home use may also be left into the sacristy, please label these with your name as they will be blessed at Candlemas on February 2.

FEAST OF ST BLAISE – Monday, February 3, is the feast of St Blaise. The blessing of throats will be given after 10 a.m. Mass.

SPRING (LENTEN) STATIONS – The Spring (Lenten) Station list is currently being drawn up for the parish.

Anybody wishing to host a Station Mass in their home please contact the parish priest at 063 81470 or leave your name into the sacristy. The Stations will start in mid-February.

ROTA – Collectors for month of February: 7.30 p.m. (Vigil) Margaret Linehan, Catherine Horgan; 8.30 a.m. John Mortell; 11 a.m. P J O’Driscoll.

Enrolment forms for the school year 2020/2021 are now available. Prospectiv­e Parents/Guardians may make an appointmen­t to meet the school principal and to view the School.

GAA CLUB NOTES

LOTTO – The lotto was held on Monday, January 20, at the Idle Hour. There was no winner of the jackpot of €3,600. The Numbers were 15, 29, 39. MASTER FIXTURES PROGRAMME – The County Board have announced the Master Fixtures programme for the year ahead. Key dates scheduled are SHC v Douglas w/e April 19. SHC v Midleton w/e August 9. SHC v Sarsfields w/e August 30. Leagues commence w/e February 16.

SELECTION COMMITTEE – The Selection Committees were ratified recently. Senior: Adrian Gilligan, James O’Shaughness­y, Aidan O’Connor, Eamon Crowley. Junior: Darren Ronan, Jonathan O’Sullivan, Eamon Morrissey. Under-21: Seán Curtin, John Mortell, Mike Morrissey. Irish and Cultural Officer: Mikey Browne.

JUVENILE COMMITTEE – The Juvenile Committee was ratified at the recent Club Executive Meeting. Chair. : Brendan Barrett, secretary: Oonagh Horan, treasurer: Jim Codd, PRO: John Mortell, Children’s Officer: Orla Kelly. Committee: John Foley, Dave Hickey, Mike Keogh, Michael Mackessy, Ian Ronan, Tom Crowley, Ger O’Shea, Alan Mortell, Owen Walsh, Joanne Crowley.

GAA MEMBERSHIP – Club Membership for Juveniles is €20, Adults €40 and Family €80.

BALLYHEA GAA DOES STRICTLY – Ballyhea GAA ‘Strictly’ was launched in the Corbett Court on Friday, January 17, and it proved to be a most enjoyable evening where the dancers were introduced to the large attendance; the Strictly Couples are Áine Griffin and Noel O’Riordan, Audrey Morrissey and Ger O’Donovan, Caroline Mackessy and Tadhg Mortell, Deirdre Duane and Donal Barrett, Helen O’Sullivan and Denis Egan, Laura Dundon and Maurice O’Riordan, Marguerite O’Kelly and Liam O’Brien, Sarah Copps and Mike Keogh, Sarah O’Regan and Aaron Dundon, Siobhán O’Kelly and Mikey Mortell, Susan Ronan and John Mortell, Triona O’Gorman and Ken Kennedy.

Ballyhea GAA has embarked on its fundraisin­g drive and looks forward to its many Club Sponsors supporting this venture. Support Ballyhea GAA Club as it prepares to punch above its weight once again.

The ‘Strictly’ promises plenty of challenges but Ballyhea GAA always rises to a challenge and no doubt it will be a great night benefittin­g a worthy fundraisin­g venture which will provide lots of fun on the journey.

Remember March 14 is a date to mark in your diary – one not to be missed. So go and support the club and its dancers in making it one night worth rememberin­g.

ALL IRELAND INTERMEDIA­TE FOOTBALL SEMI FINAL – Oughterard from Galway defeated a fancied Templenoe side in Kilmallock on Saturday, January 11, in the all-Ireland Intermedia­te Football semi-final.

Lining out at corner Back was Ciarán Hanley, son of Eugene Hanley, who played with Ballyhea and of course still has many connection­s involved with the club. Well done Ciarán and best of luck in the final.

CAMOGIE VICTORY SOCIAL – Ballyhea camogie club’s Victory Social will take place in the Charlevill­e Park Hotel on Friday, February

21, to celebrate the Junior A County Success and the under-14 all-Ireland Féile. There will be a three course meal, a DJ and lots of craic. Tickets will be available to purchase from the club. It promises to be a great night.

MEN ON THE MOVE

Ballyhea Men on the Move is back and will be held at 7.30 p.m. on Mondays and Thursdays in the Gym in the new complex in Ballyhea GAA Club.

All ages (currently ranging from 30’s to 60’s) and all levels of fitness catered for, and participan­ts from outside Ballyhea are very welcome.

SPEEDING

Speeding is still continuing to be an issue through the parish so please be aware of the speed limit of 60km/h. night in the Hibernian Hotel Mallow. It was very enjoyable night, in which over 190 persons attended, and all bedecked in their finery, the lads too.

OPERATION TRANSFORMA­TION

Killavulle­n GAA would like the community to join them in their operation transforma­tion walk which will commence on Saturday, February 1, till Saturday, February 29, at 3 p.m. Meeting at the GAA pitch and walking the beautiful pathways of Nano Nagle for three or 5km, which ever you choose to do. Everyone needs to wear a High VIS and primary school children need to be supervised by an adult. Any queries or volunteers to help contact Helen Cagney: 085 7041674.

GAA CLUB MEMBERSHIP

Membership for all aspects of the club is now due for 2020, and the club would be gracious if persons will pay the appropriat­e fee to any committee member, or make arrangemen­t to pay directly, to the club treasurer Seán Turner at 086 6015779 or membership officer John O’Donovan, at 086 3934232.

For the general public, the rates for 2020 are as follows: Full Adult membership – Working – €50; Student/OAP – €30.

Premium Tickets for Pairc Ui Chaoimh.

In order to entice more members for 2020, the club has purchased two Premium level tickets for Pairc Ui Chaoimh.

Those that sat on the seats last Saturday night, for the game between Cork and Offaly were fulsome in their praise of the view from the seats, and thought it a very worthwhile and innovative idea.

Pay before March 2 to avail of chance to use club Premium Tickets for games in Pairc Ui Chaoimh.

Paid up members will be entered in a draw for free tickets to league and championsh­ip games
