AOIFE WINS JUNIOR SILVER AT ATHLONE - Aoife O’Sullivan competed in the All-Ireland Junior high jump championship at Athlone last Saturday and won a silver medal. She jumped the same height as the winner 1.65m but the deciding factor was on the number of knock downs of the bar. This is her second medal win over two weekends, which is not to be frowned on. We congratulate her on her success.

CORK COUNTY BOARD AGM – The AGM was held at the Kingsley Hotel, Cork and was well attended. A huge agenda was dealt with, including reports, election of officers and dealing with 30 motions, all of which was done in approx 3 hours.

All the outgoing officers were elected, unopposed with one exception, that of competition secretary. There was a vacancy here due to the recent bereavement of Mary Meagher, RIP, Blarney. The vacancy will hopefully be filled at the next Board meeting. From a club perspective two of our club members Anne Murray, General Secretary and Esther Fitzpatrick, Juvenile Chairperson were re-elected.

TRAINING – Currently training takes place in Liscarroll on Monday, 7-8pm; In Charleville on Tuesday 7-8pm and on Friday 6.30-8pm. Little Athletics on tonight Thursday in Churchtown 6-7pm.

FIXTURES – Munster Indoors 2020 at Nenagh. Sat. 15th February; Munster Under 9 to 11 Indoor Championships & Senior Women & Men Walks.
