Traditional Indian yoga earns fast fans in Boher
LITTLE Stephen Pachikara who is a senior infants pupil at Boherbue National School previously attended the Boherbue Educare Centre. From a very young age, Stephen has loved Yoga and was taught by his Dad Simon who is a Yoga Guru.
When Simon gave a Yoga demonstration to Stephen’s little friends at the Creche, he was so inundated with requests for local classes that he has since opened a Yoga Centre in Boherbue, providing three classes each day, Monday to Friday, and catering for children and adults of all ages.
Locals have taken to the discipline like ducks to water, and as practicing Yoga is said to calm and focus the mind, help with sleep disorders, boost immunity and improve overall health and wellbeing, everyone is a winner!
Simon Pachikara moved to Boherbue from Kerala, India, seven years ago. He is a fully qualified Yoga Teacher in the art of Raja/Royal Type Yoga from the Sree Chakra Yoga Research Centre in South India which is under the direction of Yogacharya Paul Madathikandam.
“The classes are based on traditional Indian foundations, with benefits of Yoga being increased flexibility and muscle strength coupled with improved respiration, energy, vitality and relaxation. All classes are suitable for every one at all levels” Simon said.
Simon explains which muscles and areas of the body benefit from certain exercises and moves.
“I am delighted to bring Yoga to the locality and I thank everybody for all the local support. I am delighted that all participants enjoy my classes and benefit from them,” he said.
Due to popular demand classes have recently commenced in Kanturk and Newmarket.
