Cork dealer launches first ‘contactless car sales’

KEARY’S INNOVATION COMES AS INDUSTRY HIT HARD BY COVID-19

-

KEARY’S Motor Group and CarStore, its used car supermarket, has launched ‘Deal & Deliver,’ a new and innovative way of buying a car.

Customers can now browse and buy any car online, through Kearys.ie or CarStore.ie, and have it delivered to their door in as little as 72 hours.

“As more customers now browse our stock and apply for finance online, we can now provide an endto-end automotive buying experience,” said Brendan Keary, Director of Keary’s Motor Group and Managing Director of CarStore.

“Keary’s are the first motor group in Ireland with this technology and with more contactless transactions required across all industries we are delighted to introduce our Deal & Deliver service,” he added.

How it works is Keary’s invites the customer to: • Go on to www.kearys.ie or www.carstore.ie to view their selection of new and used cars, and their prices • Book a virtual sales appointment with a member of their sales team via Zoom, Skype, Microsoft Teams or the all new Keary’s Live Video system, email or phone call – whatever suits best

• Get approved for finance on their website or pay online (Keary’s also accepts deposits with google or apple pay)

All going well, Keary’s will then confirm contactless home delivery date and time. Every vehicle will be delivered fully sanitised by Keary’s ‘ozone sanitary care system’.

The customer will also receive a handover video explaining all key features and company reps are available on video link or phone call for follow-up information

And, after seven days if you’re not in love with your car they’ll come and collect it.

Keary’s Motor Group represents the BMW, Mini, BMW Motorrad, Hyundai, Nissan and Renault franchises in Cork, Mallow and Midleton, as well as CarStore Cork and Dublin.

This innovation by Keary’s comes as the Society of the Irish Motor Industry (SIMI) released their official new vehicle statistics which have shown new car registrations for April declined 96.1% (344) when compared to April 2019 (8,904).

As a result of COVID-19, retailers’ showrooms have remained closed since Mid-March, impacting heavily on sales. Registrations for the year to date are down 30.7% (50,626) on the same period last year (73,030).

“Like many other sectors of the economy, COVID-19 is having a devastating impact on the Irish Motor Industry,” said SIMI director general Brian Cooke. “We continue to play our part in keeping vital goods and services moving. However, the registration numbers underline the lack of activity in new vehicle sales, and this is replicated for used cars and servicing.

“Once the health situation allows the Motor Industry is ready to get back to work. Members have used this downtime to implement measures, in accordance with both Industry and State guidelines, that will protect both their employees and customers against the spread of COVID-19.

“The size of dealerships ... lends itself to social distancing, while santisation measures being put in place for both premises and vehicles, means that safety and protection are at the top of the agenda.”
