Kanturk Credit Union looking to the future
ON behalf of the Board and members of Kanturk Credit Union, I would like to thank the staff for the work they have undertaken since the beginning of the COVID-19 lockdown when Credit Unions were designated as an essential service by the Government on March 12th.
We appreciate that our staff are front line workers with similar issues to many other public services workers. Our Manager, Martin, and all the staff, have been committed, dedicated and always professional and for that we thank them most sincerely.
We are facing many challenges in the coming months and years. We must consider how best we can help our members deal with the consequences of the COVID-19 crisis and more importantly how they and we can plan going forward.
The Government has now published a roadmap for the reopening of society and business and the Credit Union will need to develop plans for the short to medium term taking this into consideration.
Having spent so much time at home over the past few weeks many people have had time to reflect on their work/ home balance and on remote working. Our common bond has many people commuting long distances to work in Cork and Limerick and beyond. Maybe now is the time to plan some home improvements, be it an extension or the repurposing of a section of the house or upgrading your homes energy efficiency.

We are planning to increase our mortgage book in the coming months and help people to become homeowners. On our balance sheet, we have up to €40 million in funds available for lending.
You can become a member of Kanturk Credit Union on joining and avail of all our services with no preconditions. Once you can demonstrate an ability to show loan repayment capacity, that is all we require. It is not a necessity to have prior savings in order to apply for a loan. Of course, terms and conditions will apply to each individual loan application.
