RED LETTER WEEKEND FOR NORTH CORK FRONT-LINERS ON PARADE
MARY CAREY of the Mallow / Charleville Red Cross mastermined a very succesful fundraising event last weekend.
As funds are needed for the group it was decided to ask people to take part in virtual runs or walks as a money raiser.
Mary and her Red Cross team were not short of company as they launched the event at Bowling Green carpark last Thursday evening. Personnel and vehicles from the National Ambulance Service, Civil Defence, Mallow Fire Service and Mallow Gardai were all out in full uniform to support as the occasion was captured on both video and image via a drone.
The convoy of cars, trucks and vans headed off on convoy around the town to mark the occasion with sirens and horns acknowledging their presence.
Just to give an insight to some of the work they have been doing during the the Covid 19 pandemic, Mallow Charleville Irish Red Cross personnel and vehicles have been involved with fellow Voluntary Emergency Services ( VES) in the Inter Agency Emergency Management COVID-19 deployment / taskings of essential PPE delivery
